What pets do you have?

Bostic an 8 year old Pit Bull, Luna a 1 year old Domestic Shorthair–both rescues adopted from the shelter but I first met them both in treatment at Pender Vet!

What education/experience do you have for this position at PenderAIR?

I have a Biology degree from UVA and a Medical Lab Technician degree from NVCC which originally led me to Pender Veterinary Centre, where I worked for over 10 years. I was ready for a new challenge at the same time PenderAIR needed another Pet Travel Coordinator. Having worked primarily as a Communications nurse or a Pharmacy Technician at Pender Fairfax, the move to PenderAIR, with it’s focus on client communication and attention to detail, has been a great fit.

What is the most satisfying thing about your job?

I love working with animals and the people who love them. Relocating to another country, or even another state, is a complicated and stressful undertaking – relocating with pets adds a whole other level of complication and stress! I love being the one who can take most of the stress and anxiety out of that situation for someone. It is so satisfying to have people tell me how glad they are to have found PenderAIR, and how much better they feel about their move once they start working with us. But the absolute best part is receiving emails, and especially photos, from our clients once they have been reunited with their beloved pets in their new homes!
